TYMUR VIACHESLAVOVYCH POLIANSKIY

The modern art of immersive exhibitions is always accompanied by sound and musical accompaniment. Music and sounds enable the visual image to acquire its individuality and evoke certain emotions.

Timur Polyansky, well-known in Ukraine and abroad, was involved in the sound accompaniment, composing music, selecting compositions and editing the audio material for the immersive exhibition "Ukraine: land of the brave".

TYMUR VIACHESLAVOVYCH POLIANSKIY is a pianist, composer, Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine, professor at the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, head of the musical section of the Kyiv Academic Drama Theater on Podil, laureate of jazz festivals and the international competition "Jazz Improvisation" in Vilnius, member of the European Film Academy (EFA), member of the Ukrainian Film Academy, laureate of the "Kyiv Pectoral" theater award, laureate of the 2020 "Zolota Dzyga" film award. He successfully performs as a soloist, participates in ensembles, in particular with the outstanding vibraphonist, soloist of the ensemble "Kremerata Baltika", Grammy winner A. Pushkarev, as well as in a piano duet with his father, Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine Vyacheslav Polyanskiy.

His programs feature music of a wide variety of genres, styles and directions from Johann Sebastian Bach to George Gershwin, but the main theme of his work is improvisation, in which he successfully combines the sophistication of the academic school with the whimsy of his jazz fantasy, thus solving the eternal dispute between "classics" and "jazzmen".

Polyanskiy is actively working on creating music for theater, cinema, and pop music, collaborating with famous directors - R. Viktyuk, O. Lisovetc, V. Malakhov, A. Demyanenko, D. Tomashpolskiy, R. Shyrman, M. Urytskiy and others. He collaborated with famous Ukrainian artists, such as O. Klymenko, V. Sheryshevskiy.

Tymur Polyanskiy is a composer of more than 40 films, such as: popular TV series "Urban Romance", "Retribution for Sins", "Hold Me Tighter", "Mercy Train", feature films "My Grandmother Fanny Kaplan", "Hutsulka Ksenia", TV films "The tTird Wheel", "Quartet for Two", "King, Queen, Jack", "Ice in the Coffee Ground", "Seduction Lessons". This is far from a complete list of film works where Tymur Polyanskiy's music sounds. He also acts as an actor in many films and theater plays.

Additionally, the recognized specialist in the field of music is the author of scientific articles and textbooks on the history and theory of jazz such as "Regtime Era", "Traditional jazz", "Stylistics of early jazz".

In 2021-2022, Tymur Polyanskiy worked, as a music curator, on the musical accompaniment of the immersive exhibitions "Immersive Shevchenko: Soul of Ukraine" and "Ukraine: Land of the Brave". While working on the project about the war in Ukraine, the composer used modern and folk songs, which have already become symbols of the struggle of the Ukrainian people, and also created an sound design that is in harmony with the visual content and evokes real emotions in the viewer.
